The Chamber joined statewide stakeholders in a letter requesting Governor Newsom to provide diesel fuel price relief as its current pricing is more than $3.26 per gallon higher than a year ago. This is affecting our supply chains, as nearly one-third of California’s economy is goods movement dependent sectors like agricutlure, construction/housing, retail, healthcare, manufacturing and more.
Governor Newsom also signed several other Chamber priority bills into law! This includes SB 925 (McNerney), AB 685 (Solache), and SB 958 (Weber Pierson):
- SB 925 will create a strategic plan for the State to support the developmet of a fusion industry in California.
- AB 685 is the Small Business Resiliency and Innovation Act, and will support additional state programming and state and federal coordination to support California small businesses.
- SB 958 provides a CEQA exemption for the Midway Rising project once the San Diego City Council certifies the project’s Environmental Impact Report. We’re excited about these priority bills being signed and are thankful to their authors for helping move forward these important policy changes.
Together, these legislative victories advance key Chamber priorities, from fostering innovation and supporting small businesses to streamlining development and encouraging investment.
