Community Partner: American Diabetes Association

The American Diabetes Association is the nation’s leading voluntary health organization whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. On April 14, riders, runners and walkers of all levels are invited to be part of the movement to fight diabetes by taking part in the Tour de Cure: San Diego, a fitness and community event happening at Del Mar Fairgrounds.

Tour de Cure raises vital funds that support the Association’s strategic priorities: drive discovery, raise voice and support people.

We drive discovery by funding research to treat, manage and prevent all types of diabetes, as well as to search for cures. This includes Stephanie Stanford, PhD, who was awarded the prestigious Pathway to Stop Diabetes Initiator Award to examine links between viral infections, genetics and type 1 diabetes at the University of California, San Diego.

We raise voice to the urgency of the diabetes epidemic; and work to safeguard policies and programs that protect people with diabetes.

In addition, we support people living with diabetes, those at risk of developing diabetes, and the health care professionals who serve them through information and programs that can improve health outcomes and quality of life. For 29 years, the Association has held Camp Wana Kura in Santee – a day camp for children living with type 1 diabetes to develop the critical skills needed to thrive while managing this disease. In 2017, the Association hosted its first Camp PowerUp in San Bernardino, blending fun activities and wellness education to help children at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes learn valuable skills they need to live a full and healthy life.

Nearly half of American adults have diabetes or prediabetes; more than 30 million adults and children have diabetes; and every 21 seconds, another individual is diagnosed with diabetes in the U.S. Tour de Cure brings together a community invested in stemming the diabetes epidemic and funding research to find a cure.

Are you happy with your current IT provider? Eclipse IT Security is a managed service provider that secures and makes technology work for you. For more than 15 years we have configured, managed and maintained technology for small businesses. Our affordable managed services monthly packages are an investment in securing your technology to eliminate data loss and costly downtime. With EIT as your personalized IT department, you gain access to high level experienced IT specialists proactively working with you to establish your IT infrastructure as a profit center. When all systems are a go – money flows.

Optimize your existing resources–while we forecast what technology you will need to remain competitive and grow, all the while providing ongoing quality support.

What sets Eclipse IT Security apart from the rest?

  • Individuals typically work under the “break and fix” model. You have an isolated issue, and it’s treated as an emergency fix.
  • Small shops may not have the knowledge or competency levels to point out issues that can negatively impact your company.
  • If your systems and network are incorrectly configured and unprotected using common passwords, you most likely will never know—and suffer the consequences of downtime, lost data, or hackers.

As founder of EIT I bring a passion for technology and wealth of computer knowledge, experience and certifications. Combine this experience with the fact that I grew up on a farm where the chores of feeding the cows was critical to our livelihood. My work ethic then — bridges to now, as I lead EIT to be a top MSP in San Diego and Salt Lake City.
